GRANT LYON
Comic
San Francisco Weekly describes Grant Lyon as “a hilariously sharp observer, not one of those tired white-guy bellyachers.” Born in Los Angeles, taken to Chicago for middle school, high school in Sacramento, college in Santa Cruz, Grant has been around. He is a practitioner of sophisticated immaturity - his comedy blends intelligent wit with pure silliness all while maintaining a relaxed surfer-dude personality. A history major in college, his infatuation with this nation’s past and present stand out throughout his show. His comedy is clever and honest, a unique combination of social commentary and ridiculous observations.
A former collegiate soccer player, Grant decided to pursue a career on stage instead of on the field. That decision was quickly rewarded as he won the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival beating out hundreds of comedians from all over the country. He plays a fun role in the upcoming second season of the Comedy Central show “Corporate” and stars in the horror comedy movie Killer Kate! As well as performing in a number of other prestigious comedy festivals including the Just For Laughs Festival, Grant has performed on the TV show Comics Unleashed and opened for names like Robin Williams and Dana Carvey. His sketch videos have been featured by Funny or Die, MSN, Huffington Post, and he’s been a guest on tons of popular podcasts like Doug Loves Movies. You might also recognize Grant from a number of national commercials including AT&T, Johnsonville Sausage, Coca-Cola.
The show went great! It was our organization's first event of the year and Grant made a great name for us - attendance was awesome, students loved the show, and Grant was extremely flexible and easy to work with."
